With the current economic and political crisis in Venezuela, all that has changed. Going to the hospital in Venezuela today is scary and almost like a death sentence. National healthcare was once a wonderful benefit for citizens, but has quickly become a nightmare as shortages of medicine and medical supplies make it impossible for doctors to do their job of saving lives.
No Medicines & No Medical Supplies
Since there is no medicine and no medical supplies in the hospitals, if you or someone in your family needs a surgical procedure, it’s up to you to provide the necessary medicines and medical supplies.
Blackmarket Reliable But Most Expensive Source
The doctors are ready and willing to help patients, but there’s not much they can do without the proper medications and supplies they need to do their job. The most reliable sources of life-saving antibiotics and medical supplies are available only on the blackmarket.
If you don’t have the money to pay for overpriced meds and med supplies, survival rates are very low and everyone knows this. That’s why there is now so much fear connected with public healthcare as more and more patients are dying in the hospitals of Venezuela.
